A Hidden Gem in Krabi, Thailand

Many people visit the Krabi/Ao Nang area for the beautiful beaches, the massive limestone formations, the famous tiger temple, and the blue lagoon.

However, if you want a refreshing break from these very touristy attractions, I have a special place you must visit: Pa Phru Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam.

Pa Phru Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam is in the northern region of the Krabi province. It is a gorgeous mangrove forest park with crystal clear water. IMG_3881.JPGThis park is beautiful and undiscovered by tourists. When I visited this park with my friend, we saw only 15 people in the park and they were all locals. I recommend spending about 3 hours in this charming place. You can spend your time walking, swimming, and enjoying the scenery.

How to get to Pa Phru Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam?

The park is about 25 miles from Ao Nang. We decided to rent a scooter and drive there. The drive took about 45 minutes. The drive is beautiful as you pass by giant limestone formations and bright green palm trees. IMG_4031 (1).JPGIMG_1192.jpgIMG_1203.jpgIMG_1218.jpgThe Park

The park costs 50 THB per person. It is open from 8am-5pm. There is a large parking lot by the entrance of the park. There are also a few shops and restaurants where you can get food, water, and souvenirs.

The walk in the park is about 3 miles long and it winds through the mangrove forest. IMG_1321.jpgIMG_3901.JPGI think mangrove trees are the coolest looking trees! I love the way their long roots are intertwined with each other. They look like they are from a fairy tale book! IMG_3918 (1).JPGIMG_3966.JPGIMG_3873 (1).JPGIMG_1287.jpgThere is a section in the park where you can swim around the mangrove trees. The water is so clear you can even see little fishes swimming around. The water is cool and really refreshing. There are also a lot of areas in the park to sit and just enjoy the scenery.IMG_1231.jpgIMG_1315.jpgPa Phru Tha Pom Khlong Song Nam is a charming place to escape the touristy attractions in the Krabi area. This park is perfect for people who love nature and want to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Please let me know if you visited this beautiful park! I would love to hear about your experience!
